Vote YES for Lee’s Summit R-7 Schools
On April 7th , vote yes to support a full waiver of Prop C, which removes a state mandate
requiring LSR-7 to reduce its funding by rolling back its operating levy. This would allow
LSR-7 to join the 91% of school districts whose communities have already supported a
full waiver for their schools and generate around $4 million annually to support higher
pay for teachers and staff.
LSR-7 ranks 13 th in starting teacher pay compared to other Kansas City-area districts
while maintaining the lowest tax rate. We must do more to stay competitive and attract
the best teachers.
Funds generated by the Prop C waiver will go directly to teachers and staff across the
district, including support personnel who keep our buses running, our kids fed, and our
schools safe.
On average, a Prop C waiver would cost residential property owners less than $8 per
month. Seniors who have applied for the SB190 property tax freeze would see no
change to their tax bill.
